i'm slipping deeper
the aliens from the front of my childhood trapper keeper
have crept their way inside
nowhere to hide
in my alien dreams

i'm dressed in suit and tie at my cubicle,
when they see me
in their blue volkswagen bug
revving up so menacingly
and they chase me thru the halls
in almost all of my alien dreams

if someone takes you home
it's alright, you're not dreaming
you're a lovely feather floating in the breeze
but if you go home at night
and your hairs pulled back too tight
when you turn out the light
you should beware
of alien dreams

i'm running pretty fast
but the aliens are faster
i turn and raise my shield
of a sunburst stratocaster
but the armors no damn good
it's made of wood
they smash it in my alien dreams

nowhere left to hide
but i can't face my demon
windows open wide
and the aliens are screaming
so i take my curtain call
and i fall
from my alien dreams

if someone takes you home
that's ok, you're not dreaming
you're a lovely feather floating in the breeze
but if you go home at night
and your hairs pulled back too tight
your boss was too uptight
day didn't go alright
there's no relief in sight
that's ok, you're only dreaming

With All My Friends track could be plucked straight out of the ‘Head’ record put out by, at the time, a newly unleashed and irreverent Monkees. And it not only would’ve fit right in but it would’ve been one of the stand out tracks. an excellent recreation to the blissful mess that was the 60’s flower psych shawnhwood
